1. About AssetBuddy
AssetBuddy ("AssetBuddy", "we", "us" or "our") is a product of ValueBuddy (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2015/029953/07), 4th Floor, CRF Building, 4 Bridal Close, Tyger Falls Office Park, Bellville, part of the BuddyCentral Group.
2. Acceptance of These Terms
By accessing or using AssetBuddy, registering for an account, or subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use AssetBuddy.
3. Nature of the Service
AssetBuddy is a subscription service for tracking assets, warranties, insurance policies, service history and related documents, with optional AI-assisted document scanning. AssetBuddy does not sell or ship any physical products -- see our Delivery Policy.
4. Registration and Account Use
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate, current information when registering.
5. Subscriptions and Billing
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually via PayFast and renew automatically until cancelled. Current plans and prices are published on our Pricing page. See our Cancellation Policy and Return / Refund Policy for how cancelling and billing actually work.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree to use AssetBuddy only for lawful purposes, and only to track assets and records you own or are authorised to manage.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on this site, including text, graphics, logos and the AssetBuddy name and branding, is the property of ValueBuddy (Pty) Ltd or its licensors and is protected by South African intellectual property law.
8. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
AssetBuddy is provided on an "as is" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the service, including reliance on AI-extracted document data, which you should always review before saving. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded under South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The updated version will be published on this page and applies from the date it is published.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
